GATTONERO, The Dark Side of the Moon
URBAN GIANTS GRAFFITI FESTIVAL 2019 is the most amazing graffiti festival in Italy attended by more than 200 street artists and writers from all over the world. It took place in Milano on June 28th, 29th, 30th.
This canvas is a one time created work of art and it is a part of the one and the only canvas contest admitted during the festival. Just 30 canvases for 30 artists and 3 days to paint the wall and the 50x70 canvas too.From walls to canvas, from stage sets to interior design, Gattonero has scattered his works across all four corners of the globe, including Tokyo and Seoul, where he is considered a veteran of the Italian old school.
In 2004, he rebuilt all Leonardo da Vinci’s water machines for a famous exhibition at Sforzesco Castle, Milan. The content of his pictures is the result of his long experience in the field combining figurative art in the style of the great Italian school with avant-garde material abstractionism, with a fleeting reference to design in an interpretation of a muralist matrix.
Postulating that the individual comes into being by identifying with a graphic symbol, Gattonero has produced a series of installations and canvasses over the years, called the “Flags”, which have come to achieve cult status.
